When I first started out in the collection business over 18 years ago, there were not very many credit related websites, discussion groups, or networking opportunities. I searched high and low and found so few that I created my own.
I started Credit & Collections almost 10 years ago and now have over 800 members and that number is growing every single day. I am very excited about this, it shows me there is really a need for something like this. I have found so many more people are purchasing my book "Starting a Collection Agency" and joining my Credit & Collections group. This is exciting for me, because I can save these people so much time and money and I love that.
My website Credit & Collections is full of free information, including a free e-book to help anyone interested in starting their own debt collection agency. There is also an email discussion group where members can post questions and get answers from industry professionals and suppliers to the collection industry. I have a page of resources, a page of free letters and forms, FAQ's, a members page where members can list their agency and URL by the state or states they work in. We refer alot of business back and forth, which is one of the main points of the group.
I love that I am able to help people who are credit managers or collectors or who want to start their own business. I know how great a feeling it is to work for your self and am always very excited to meet others who are just starting. It is alot of hard work but so worth it. I started and ran my own agency for 8 years and wouldn't trade that for anything.

I loved the article. It was well written & concise. Ms. Dunn made sense with her approach on how to ask for your money from customers who get behind. I would highly recommend this article.
