I recently gave a speech at a local Business to Business Trade show on this topic. We talked about the different ways to get your envelopes opened, and I explained that this is just the first step. Once the envleope is opened, what is to stop the debtor from just tossing the letter in the trash?
You have to have great dunning notices that catch the attention of the debtor and prompt them to respond in some way. It doesn't always work but it does alot of the time.
I just released a new book (available on CD or as an e-book) called "How to Get your Customers to Pay, Fast, Easy, Effective Letters".
These are letters I have used in my 17 years as a bill collector and had the best results with. I have also sold many copies and have had a very positive response to the letters included in the book. So I am happy they are also working for others in this industry.
If you try any of my letters please let me know how they work for you or if you have any suggestions. Feedback is so helpful when I publish a new edition so I can give people what they need, want and find useful.
