
If you have a business customer that owes you money, don't waste your time leaving messages with the Accounts Payable department or the sales person who ordered the product or the secretary. Go right for the decision maker, talk to the owner.
If you are really serious about getting paid, don't talk to the person who is answering the phone, ask for the owner of the company. Bring who you are and your company to his attention and tell him his account is past due and being a business owner, you knew he would want to know about this right away so he could clear it up.
Every business has a "gatekeeper" do not get caught in the game of the gatekeeper and leave message after message that does not get returned.
