
Some things you should make sure of when accepting a check as payment:
- Make sure the name and address is imprinted on the check.
- Check for todays date.
- Compare the ID picture with the person writing the check.
- Compare signature with ID signature.
- Ask for a physical address if a PO box is listed.
When you accept a check as a form of payment from a customer, you are trusting them to make good on it and to have the funds available. When you accept a check remember what is important:
