The owner may even be the person who filled out the credit application, but not always. Most owners will feel embarrassed that you brought this to their attention which results in you getting paid. I have worked places and with clients who know that once this happens, the "boss" or owner lets A/P know to always pay that companies bills on time.
There have also been occasions where I have had to call the owner of a company for a long time, so this doesn't always work. It works more often than not and I can recommend it.
