How do I "Skip Trace"?
People who start a business and create a credit policy, are normally not familiar with the term "Skip Trace".  Skip tracing is the act of locating someone who has ditched you, so that you can try to collect the money that is owed to you.  If you can't find the person, you can't collect from them.

Some free things you can do to locate a "skipped account" are to research the following:

  • Traffic records
  • Circuit Civil records
  • County Civil records
  • Circuit criminal records
  • County criminal records
  • Voter registration
  • Marriage records
  • Occupational license
  • Property tax rolls
  • Hunting &/or fishing licenses
  • Property records
  • Auto registrations

These may take some time, but are all free and available to the public.
