This is the reason that when you created your credit policy you had each customer sign and fill out a credit application. If you need to skip trace a customer or debtor, go pull that credit application and get the following information:
- Full name, first, middle and last
- Social Security number
- date of birth
- former address
- employment information
- vehicle and drivers license information
- spouses information
This information should be easy to find in your locked file cabinet of credit applications.
Once you have some or all of this information there are many ways you can try to locate your customer. You can look in your phone book, you can use on line services, call their place of employment, their spouse's place of employment, call directory assistance or if you have the capability, run a credit report. Call their references and see if they have an address or phone number for the debtor.
