What do you do when you see an envelope with an advertisement on the outside in your stack of mail? Do you open or toss it?
Sue Kelvington of Atlas Machinery, in Salt Lake City, Utah explains how this affected her customers payments.
After 3 months of invoices, sending out statements and calling a customer that was past due, she finally got someone to return her calls on why their account had not been paid. They had thrown the bills away! She had been sending flyers showing new equipment they had to offer with their invoices and statements. When the customer received them, they saw the ad and threw them away. Sue was finally able to get them to pay after she spoke with them.
Sue says, "Perhaps there is a lesson here - don't send your advertising with your bills!"
