
As part of your Debt Diet, the next step is to STOP SPENDING! Completely. This is hard but look at it as a challenge and it will be something you can do and feel proud about.
Starting today get a notebook and write down EVERYTHING you spend money on today. Gas, a cup of coffee, a muffin, lunch, the paper, soda, snacks, etc. Do this for a week and then a month. Add everything up per day, week and month to see what you are spending. I bet the amount is WAY more than you would have guessed.
Now look at what you buy, how can you cut those costs or eliminate them completely?
- Can you carpool, walk or ride a bike to work?
- Can you brew coffee at home and bring it with you to work?
- Can you subscribe to the paper and have it deleivered for a cheaper price, or read the paper online or at the library?
- Can you pack a lunch?
- Can your business order office supplies only once a month in order to have a larger order and get free shipping?
