Many people use their accounting software program to generate their business invoices. This is a great way to create, organize and keep track of your receivables. Make sure you take the extra steps and customize your invoices.
Upload your logo, put your phone number and website address on their and use customized messages in the comments or notes or body of the invoice.
One of the ways to customize your invoices to prompt a quicker payment could be where you state your terms. Instead of “Payment due upon receipt” type in “Payment Due Now”. If you offer terms, don’t say “Net 30 Days” try saying “Payment due on November 1, 2010.
If you offer a discount put that information in a larger font, maybe in a bold different color and tell the customer how much they will save if they pay by November 1, 2010. Try printing your invoices on a different color paper, it will stand out from all the other bills and really be noticed.
