Know More: Checking Credit, Credit Reporting, Understanding Credit Reports
  1. Public Record information. 
    1. Bankruptcy (stays on for up to 10 years)
    2. Tax liens (stays on for up to 15 years)
    3. Civil law suits
    4. Judgments
    5. Overdue child support in some states

 

  1. Detailed Credit information.
    1. Loans & credit you have been granted in the past.
    2. Date credit was given
    3. Credit limits
    4. Loan amounts
    5. Balance due
    6. Payment patterns
    7. If you have any co-signers

 

  1. Inquiries by credit grantors.
    1. Anyone who has pulled your report to decide on granting you credit.
    2. Date and name of company who requested report, such as credit card companies or banks.

 

  1. Personal Information
    1. Name, addresses, telephone numbers, Social security numbers, date of birth, and employment history, current and past, including length of employment.
