
The nations second largest newspaper, the Wall Street Journal publisher Dow Jones, has been sold to Murdoch citing they had no choice, since his offer of $5 billion was the only serious offer on the table.
According to NPR "Wary" would be an understated way of describing the mood in the Dow Jones newsroom. The Wall Street Journal has long been a newspaper geared toward the financial and business sector in the business world. The talk around town is will it turn into a less-business like newspaper such as the Post or the Sun?
Many fear that the Wall Street Journal will become a newspaper run by a rich media mogul rather than reporting factual news. Does the news matter or the money?
Murdoch is a businessman and being a business woman I know that means he is in this for the money. How will this change in leadership affect our nation?
What is the image that the world has of the US? If you travel outside of the US you are probably sometimes shocked at the perception the world has of the United States. Only time will tell and I for one will continue to read the Wall Street Journal and look forward to seeing the changes that undoubtedly will take place. Change is good and always creates a protest, if the changes to the paper are things I don't like, I won't buy it anymore.
