Collection Advisor’s Tech ’07 a Success!

This year was the first year I attended Collection Advisor’s Tech ’07 in Las Vegas.  Their byline is “America’s Premier Collection Technology Event” and after attending, I couldn’t agree more.  If I had to advise anyone in this industry on which events to attend, that are worthwhile, educational and give you the opportunity to network with top industry leaders in every aspect, this conference is it.

The conference was held in Las Vegas at the beautiful and elegant Bellagio hotel.  This 3 day event was full of activities to help you do your job better and learn about everything and anything going on in the credit and collections industry.  I had the privilege of meeting top industry leaders such as everyone who helped put this conference together from Collection Advisor, including T. Allen Rose, Harry Strausser III and so many more people who made this conference a great success.  Ron Brown was the keynote speaker and I made it a point to attend his presentation.  If you ever have the opportunity to see Ron speak, jump at the chance!  There is a lot to be learned from Ron and you will come away with many ideas on how you can become a cyber sleuth and a new respect for skip tracing.

The exhibitors included everyone in the credit and collections industry that is anyone, software companies, payment systems, letter outsourcing companies, technology, inbound and outgoing call management, receivables management, skip tracing, and everything you would possibly need to help make your collections more streamlined and automated to help make you more money and be more successful.

The lineup of speakers was extraordinary, I had the distinct privilege of being on a panel with such industry professionals as Patti Dunn the CEO of The Edge Collection & Recovery Consulting, Keith Alderson the VP of Compass Bank, Jerry Smith the director of operations for Tate & Kirlin Associates and Dan Steinman who is a 25 year veteran in the collection industry.  I not only felt honored to be included on a panel with these outstanding people, I made some new friends and learned a lot.

The networking events alone were so beneficial to my business and helped me to put names with the faces of so many people that I have been working with for so many years as well as new people that I am now working with to help bring a better light upon this industry and to help educate credit and collections professionals everywhere.

My advice? If you only attend one conference a year, make Collection Advisors Tech ’08 the conference you choose. You will not be disappointed and you will leave the conference with the most up to date information and tools as well as a renewed sense of motivation, and drive to help make your business succeed.
