I ran across an article by Bob Tremblay in the Milford Daily News with this sentence that caught my eye:
Horror stories of debt collectors acting like rabid pit bulls abound.
That really caught my attention and when I continued reading I saw the article was about a company that offers accounts receivable outsourcing to business owners. The company is called American Profit Recovery (APR) and this is what they say about themselves:
"At American Profit Recovery (APR), we’ve developed a proven outsourcing solution that gives you the benefit of third-party collections for a flat, low fee – no matter what industry you’re in. So you spend less time and money collecting profits and more time generating them."
Unlike traditional companies, APR charges a flat fee of $15 instead of a commission on an account. No matter what the amount is. This company has been around since 2003, I am surprised I had not heard of them before.
I would think this service might be quite popular right now with many business owners floundering and trying to collect from customers who are suffering because of the economic crisis. They have a free newsletter and also a great page with “Tools to Reduce Bad Debt” which I found to be full of very helpful advice and ideas that you can use right away to be more profitable.
I also offer a Special Report titled: "How to Set up a Successful Accounts Receivable Outsourcing Program" which tells you how to start your own outsourcing business, but that might be helpful to anyone who wants to know what to look for in an outsourcing service, what questions to ask, how to determine if the pricing is in line with other companies and how it all works.
